Last Night’s Forecast General Situation: A weak .anticyclone extends from the south Tasman Sea on to southern New Zealand. while a shallow depression is located west of the Auckland Peninsula.

Forecast: Winds between south-west and south-east predominating, fresh in exposed positions on the coast from Banks Peninsula to East Cape, otherwise,light to moderate. Seas: In New Zealand waters, rather rough at times south of East. Cape and in Cook Strait, slight to moderate, elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate and variable winds, easterly predominating at first but a change to south-westerly advancing across the northern portion: seas, moderate. Weather: Changeable and showery in eastern districts from Otago to Hawke’s Bay, but improving 'from the south., elsewhere, fair to fine at fvrst, but unsettled conditions advancing from, the north,-west over (he northern half of the North Island, cold night and slightly milder day temperatures. To-day’s North Island Report Overcast and unsettled conditions were general in the North Island this morning. Light to moderate southerly

breezes were reported. The barometer had commenced to rise slowly. Tomneralures at t) o'clock were: Auckland 44 degrees, Tauranga 43, Opotiki 40, East Cape 47, Gisborne 45, and Napier and Wellington 42. Rough seas were reported between Wellington and Castle point- and at. Tiritiri: elsewhere moderate or smooth. Midday Forecast General Situation: The disturbance centred near Chatham Island for some days is moving eastward, and ■pressure is rising over the Dominion. Forecast: Light to moderate south io south-west winds. Weather: Cold and changeable with passing .showers, but fair intervals, moderate seas with a decreasing swell. .
