“SYSTEM TO BE PROUD OF”

EDUCATION IN DOMINION NEW YORK DOCTOR’S VIEW (Per Trass Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “You in New Zealand have an educational system to be proud of. There is no need to make any apologies about it." That, in essence, was the opinion expressed by Dr. A. IC. Botts, New York, addressing the Auckland Education Board to-day. Dr. Botts has for a year been acting lecturer at the Teachers’ Training College under the exchange system. He expressed thanks for the opportunity to visit the South Island and other training colleges. "The comparisons I made on the southern tour were not to the disadvantage ot the Auckland Training College,” he said. He added that while in the United States there was a three or four-year course for teachers, the two-year course adopted here was intensive and efficient.
