RUGBY FIXTURES

GAMES FOR TO-MORROW INTEREST WE EE S BREAD THREE BIG MATCHES Rugby interest for Poverty Bay followers of the code will be well distributed to-morrow, for there are to bo three feature games in different venues which should provide excellent entertainment.

The major interest will rest on the meeting between the Poverty Bay and Hawke’s Bay senior representatives, on the latter’s home ground, in continuation of a long-standing arrangement for the interchage of visits season by season. Poverty Bay has had a few wins at Napier, but this year's team is reckoned one of the best sen’, south for some years, and it should do credit to. its home district, even if defeated by the powerful Magpie combination. The Poverty Bay senior representatives left this morning for Napier, and to-morrows match will be one of three to be played on tour, the other engagements being with Wairarapa and Bush. Secondary School Match

The feature game on the Oval at Gisborne will be the meeting of the Napier and Gisborne High School teams, also in continuance of an annual exchange going back for a

long time. Gisborne’s chances are believed to be very bright, and {he game should draw a first-class crowd. Secondary school football being what it is throughout New Zealand, spectators can look forward to a really entertaining, brisk, and tenacious tussle. *

In Te Karaka, the Poverty Bay B representatives will meet the Waikohu sub-union team, and here country patrons will have the chance to see in action some of the best Rugby talent available. A few at least of those who will play for Poverty Bay in Te Karaka might well have gone on tour, had they been available for tiro southern journey. Waikohu also will have a strong team on the field, and the game should be a satisfactory attraction for country supporters. The Poverty Bay B team will leave for Te Karaka at 12.45 p.m., from Tattersall and Bayly’s corner. 11.5.0.8. Thirds (v. Celtic).—Nelson. Johnson. Cannell, Rodgers, Smith, Aitken, Hansen, Knight, Easton, Kay, Parke, Crawford, Hall, Frazer,” Waugh, Hansen, Little, McLeod and Robinson.
