The removal of a tree in front oi the main, entrance to the Oddfellows’ ITall in Market street was sought by tin 1 Loyal Hastings Lodge of Oddfellows at a meeting of the Hastings Borough Council, bull: the idea failed to iineot witli the approval of the council, it being nointed out that, the tree was one of several that formed an avenue laid down t,o mark on historical event—namely, the jubilee of Queen Victoria.
