OBITUARY
MRS. M. J. KYNE DEATH IN TE KARAKA The death of Mrs. Johanna Elizabeth Kyne, wife of Mr. M. J. Kyne, occurred in Te Karaka last night. Mrs. Kyne was well known in Gisborne and the district as a popular hostess in hotels, and news of her death will cause widespread regret. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Carmody, Mrs. Kyne was born in Wellington 54 years ago, and was married to Mr. Kyne in Wellington in 1909. In Gisborne, Mrs. Kyne was associated with her husband in the conduct of the Albion Club Hotel for a number of years, and following that they were in Wanganui. A few years ago, Mr, and Mrs. Kyne took over the Rangitira Hotel, Te Karaka. Her husband, one son and two daughters are left to mourn their loss, the family comprising Mr. Maurice Kyne, Auckland, and Misses Joan and Marie Kyne, Te Karaka. The interment will take place at the Taruheru cemetery on Monday morning, and the funeral will leave St. Mary’s Church, Gisborne, after a requiem mass at 9 o’clock.
