General situation: An anticyclone, the centre of which is at present over New South Wales, is advancing towards the Dominion. Pressure is falling however, over Tasmania. Forecast: Winds light to moderate southerly prevailing, nut a change to freshening westerlies or north-west-erlies advancing later from the south. Seas: In New Zealand waters, slight or moderate. Eastern Tasmaji Sea: Moderate southerly winds at first and moderate seas, winds turning to north-westerly in the southern portion and becoming strong later. Weather: A few isolated showers on the East Coast and in the far north and south, otherwise fine generally, probably becoming unsettled, however, in the south-western portion of the South Island before Sunday. To-day’s North Island Report Overcast conditions were reported this morning at Auckland and Wellington, but blue skies prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light northerly breezes were reported at
Wellington: and light southerlies elsewhere. The barometer had continued the slow rlsi:tg movement. Temperatures at t) o’clock were: Auckland 50 degrees, Tauranga and Wellington 43, Opotiki 40.
