Iron for Japan
The fact that considerable quantities of iron ore are still being shipped from Trenganu, on the east coast of British Malaya, to Japan from Japanese controlled mines in the district, was mentioned by Mr. P. H. Carter, ;jn electrical and mining engineer, who has arrived at Auckland from Singapore. ' Some time ago there was a strike among the Chinese who worked the mines and they refused tb mine ore for Japan, said Mr. Carter, but the trouble apparently had been settled.
