STEELING DOWN £133,000 FALL IX THE NOTE ISSUE ADVANCES INCREASE
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Reserve Bank .return for the week ended Monday, July It), was gazetted this week. The statement is balanced at £28,804,700, or £52,282 less than at the close of the previous week. A fall of £133,207 in the value of the sterling exchange reserve has reduced the total to £5,556,797. Notes and other demand liabilities are slightly less than the week before, an increase of £282,854 in the deposits of the trading banks having been more than counterbalanced by falls in tire other classes. The ratio is 30.805 per cent, compared with 31.329 per cent the week before. Advances to the Primary Produce Marketing Department have increased by £10,378, while those for other purposes are £BO,OOO higher.
