Mr. J. L. Munro, Gisborne, Mr. J. Dyrnock, Te Karaka, and Mr. M. Robison, Tol-aga Bay, left to-day for Wellington to represent the Poverty Bay district at the annual meeting of ’ the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs. The meeting will commence to-morrow morning.
Recent advice from Mr.. 11. A. Barton. secretary-manager of the Gisborne Harbour Board, who is on a health-recruiting tour overseas, indicates that he has made a rapid improvement, and will return to New Zealand next month, sailing from the United Kingdom in the Dominion Monarch. Mr. E. J. Simmons, veterinary supervisor for the Department of Agriculture, Gisborne, is retiring from the department on account of illhealth, and has arranged to return to England. Mr. Simmons has been stationed in Gisborne lor nearly a year, and will terminate his engagement at the end of this week. He has arranged to leave Gisborne with Mrs. Simmons and family on July 22, and will travel via Australia. A Ibrief visit was paid to Gisborne vesterday iby Group ; -Cantain T. AI.
