TARANAKI’S GOOD WIN
HIGH-SCORING MATCH KING COUNTRY BEATEN (Ter Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Giving a much-improved display, Taranaki defeated King Country in o representative Rugby match at Stratford yesterday by 2G points to 15. A large attendance saw a spectacular exchange, particularly when Killeen and Sullivan spreadeagled the defence as they did twice. King Country was no less enterprising. and Crossman was a perpetual thorn in the side of Taranaki. Taranaki won largely because eight points were scored before the visitors settled down. Alter that honours were more even. O’Dowda (2), Coull, Smith and Fowler scored tries for Taranaki, Johns converting four and kicking a penalty goal. Tries were scored for King Country by Mossman and Hardie, Fleming converting one and kicking a penalty. Crossman kicked a field goal.
