Theft of £5

When he found a £5 note in the street in Opotiki recently a youthful schoolboy gave the money to Eric James Phiipot, a taxi-driver. who said he would take the money to the police. Instead, Phiipot banked the money with some of his own, but, when taxed with the theft by the police, admitted the olTence. He appeared before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Police Court in Opotiki yesterday and was convicted and lined £s.—Special.
