At the London wool sales 7672 bales were offered, including 4029 New Zealand and 6560 were sold. There was a good selection and a large supply of New Zealand crossbreds -met with animated competition, tile demand being due to military requirements. New Zealand prices included the following: Greasy Merinos, Balmoral, 91 d to lOd; scoured crossbred. NZWMA 14d to 14Jd ; slipe, halfibred combing lambs, Canterbury, llid to 15d; Wa;tara, 9|d to 14jd; GRC/WRF 14!d; slipe crossbred combing lambs, WFM/T lambs, lOid to 14,1 d; Canterbury, lid to 15d; slipe crossbred lambs, H in diamond, 14d to 15d.
Compared with the close of the last series scoured Merinos were at par and greasy Merinos 5 per cent, scoured and greasy crossbreds a to 10 per cent, medium and coarse 15 to 20, and slipes 7J per cent higher.
