OBITUARY

The death occurred in a private hospital in Palmerston North on Sunday, following a brief illness, of Mr. John Henry Shore Pcrrett. one of the best-known and respected pioneer residents of the Sandon district. The only child of the late Mr. Robert Pcrrett, he was born in Lnyington, Wiltshire, England in 1808, and arrived in New Zealand with his parents in 1881, his father taking up land at Rongotea. After remaining with his father for a number ol years, Mr. Pcrrett purchased the Cuudown property, about a mile from Sanson, which he farmed succcsslully for 47 years until his death.
