Mr. J. B. Clark, Te Hapara, who is a patient in the Cook Hospital, was reported to-day to be progressing satisfactorily.
Advice has been received that Dr. H. Short, tuberculosis specialist, will visit Wairoa on August 5 and 7. Special.
Mrs. J. F. H. Macnamara, Childers! road, left last week-end to spend a holiday in Auckland, intending to return via Tauranga, where she will stay with her daughter, Mrs. Lockie. The directors of the Kiore Sheepfarming Company, Limited, which is ncorporated in England, announce that Mr. J. W. Bain, Gisborne, lias been appointed general manager and secretary for the company in New Zealand. The former general manager was the late Mr. Howard Kenwav. who held the position for more than 40 years.
Pilot Officer F. J. Lucas, who for the past two years has been a member of the Royal Air _ Force in England, has written to his parents, saying that he has been selected to fly to New Zealand one of the new Wellington bombers purchased bv the New Zealand Government. Pilot Officer Lucas, who is a son of Mr. md Mrs. Charles F. Lucas. Moot Park Farm, Tuapeka Mouth, stated that he expected to leave England on his long flight on October 1 Pilot Officer Lucas went to London two years ago to enlist in the Itoyal Air Force.
