Lost Balls At the last meeting of the committee it was decided to do away with the marking of balls and members were asked to redeem any of their balls which were m the lost ball box and this would be dismantled. As the course is now in a soft condition after the recent fain Majors are requested to be more caretul in the replacement of divots. Too much laxity in this has been noticed lately and as the grounds committee i s doing its utmost to keep the links in first class condition for the championships and tournament, playcis are asked to help. WAIItOA LADIES’ CLUB The best cards returned for the first qualifying -round of the championships 'cf -the Wairoa Ladies’ Golf Club were:— A Grade. —Mrs. Smith, 92 11 81; Miss Chase, 94 —9 —85. B Grade. —Mrs. McCrca, 92—21—71; Miss Harvey, 9(1 —21 —75; Mrs. Goldstone, 96—19—77; Mrs. Glengarry, 98—21—77.
