ANNIVERSARY BALL
WHATATUTU FUNCTION GAY DECORATIONS (Herald Correspondent.) The Whatatutu Hall was the scene of much gaiety on Thursday night, when the Hall Aniversary Ball was held.' The hall had been gaily decorated with red, green and black streamers, and suspended troin the ceiling were Chinese lanterns and balloons, and the walls were covered with feathery bamboo, palm fronds and clumps of wattle. A delicious poultry supper was served in the supper-room from tables decorated with bowls of mixed flowers and red berries. Mrs. W. Thompson’s orchestra supplied the music, and Mr. M. Spence was a very efficient M.C. Among those present were Mrs. C. S. Parkinson, wearing a frock of honey coloured net with red rfn spots; Mrs. C. Gaukrodger, black fantasia, with a short brown fur coat; Mrs. Don Campbell, wine velvet; Mrs. H. H. Dods, black taffeta with velvet panels; Mrs. G. Dods, lilac cloque; Mrs. G. J. Moore, floral chiffon; Mrs. C. Hood, black velvet; MrSi S. Dykes, turquoise moire; Mrs. G. J. Gregory, black velvet; Mrs. T. Askew, black cloque, with a silver lame coatee; Mrs. J. M. King, mermaid blue chiffon; Mrs. R. Allwood, black and white marocain; Mrs. E. Grey, midnight blue lace; Mrs. D. W. .Anderson, blue marocain; Mrs. Seebeck, black velvet.' Mr-1, H. Walker,. black lace relieved with silver; Mrs. E. Tait, floral marocain. Miss G. Parkinson wore a frock of sea-green chiffon accented with gold trimmings; Miss _M. Tonks, cyclamen georgette, with a short white fur coat; Miss J. Cotterill, floral taffetas; Miss M. Parker, black cloque; Miss V. Seymour, navy cire taffeta; Miss G. Moore, black velvet and white net; Mrs. B. Dods, blue cloque; Miss F. Hood, pink Swiss organza; Miss M. Park, pearl satin frock with a coatee of white velvet; Miss E. Castles, blue and gold spotted net over taffeta; Miss R. King, black taffeta with gold pin spots; Miss J. Clarke, apple green georgette; Miss I. McKenzie, sprigged .organdie; Miss N. Park, midnight blue velvet; Miss L. Tullock, floral crackell.
Miss J. Campbell wore midnight blue velvet; Miss Fitzpatrick, blue velvet frock, with rust colour coatee; Miss S. Hood, tartan taffetas; Miss R. Boynton, jade green satin, with a shoulder spray of pink orchids; Miss J. Izod, rainbow chiffon; Miss V. Benson, navy taffeta. Miss E. Young’s frock was of petunia velvet; Miss I. McKenzie, midnight blue crepe; Miss E. Benson, blue cloque; Miss L. Williams (Ngatapa), sage green flat crepe: Miss E. Hamilton, hand-painted water-lily crepe; Miss J. Russell, pearl pink lace; Miss M. Allwood, rose pink taffetasjJMiss M. Parker, floral faille, with white fur shoulder cape; Miss E. Doyle, red and gold floral satin; Miss E. Blott. pink floral satin; Miss M. Alexander, green georgette: Miss J. Campbell, black velvet relieved with silver; Miss P. Hunia, black net; Miss R. Tupara, yellow uncrushable crepe; Miss V. Jackson, blue lace.
