Mi - . .1. G. Caughlcy, M.A., acting Headmaster of the Ti.nwald School, M id-Canterbury, and formerly of Christchurch, will leave New Zealand early tin August for England under the 'terms of an Imperial Relations Trust travelling scholarship, the first fo be awarded l in New Zealand.
Mr. O. N. Campbell, Under-Secre-tary to the Native Department, and Mr. F. Blackburn, chief supervisor of native land development schemes, were "visitors to Wairoa on Saturday in connection with the native land development schemes at Mahia and Mohaka. They left later on the return journey to Wellington.—Special. Mr. Hugo V. Anson, a son of the late Dr. G. E. Anson, Lower Hu til. has been appointed to the council of directors of the Royal College of Music as from May 1 last. The post is an administrative one, with the status of assistant director of the college. Mr. Anson has also been appointed a member of the professorial board and admitted to the fellowship of the college (F.R.C.M.).
