SEVERE PUNISHMENT
Drastic action has been taken by the Whangarei Rugby Union in connection with a Pipiwai senior B player, who was ordered off the field lor allegedly kicking an opponent. The player was stood down for the remainder of this season and for the whole of the 1940 season. Reporting to the union, the judicial commi. fee said that in its opinion it was absolutely necessary to take a firm Stand to stop illegal tactics and that any future cases would be more severely dealt with. Another Pipiwai player, a junior, was stood down for one playing Saturday for alleged rough, play.
