HOCKEY LEADERS THREE POINTS UP

A NOTH Ell 1)11 AW CALEDONIAN & FORESTERS Y.M.C.A, GET ADVANTAGE KEEN WOMEN'S (JAMES ONE-GOAL MARGINS Y.M.C.A. gained the advantage when Caledonian and Foresters A played a drawn game in the Poverty Bay Hockey Association’s men’s senior A grade championship on Saturday afternoon, for Y.M.C.A. were able to increase their lead in the competition from two to three points. Caledonian remain in second position. Caledonian and Foresters A have now drawn twice out of three meetings, and altogether the latter team has played three drawn games in the championship series to date, following cut the usual Foresters’ tradition of many drawn games during the season. The women’s senior A grade games were both particularly even, and late goals, the only ones in the respective matches, decided the issue in each case. Ilinenui retain the lead in the grade with the possible number of points and still without any goals being scored against them. Awapuni have gone to the lead in the B grade.
