Timber and Coal Imports
The Danish State Railways' have built two carriages containing modern cinema equipment to entertain travellers on long journeys.
A large quantity of coal and Umber has been landed' Ifch'is week by the Union Company's steamers Kaimiro and Poolta, which, conclude four days’ discharging operations to-morrow. The Kaimiro, 25G2 tons, is one of the largest vessels that has entered the Gisborne harbour and’ 'her consignment from Newcastle and' Sydney included 95 hardwood poles for the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board, G2OO railway sleepers, 1000 tons of coal and a .few tons of other timber and general goods. The Poolta brought from Westport and Greymouth 1550 tons of coal, 1400 fencing posts, and 40,000 super feet of timber.
