At Home on the Rocks

Describing his find of -a seal at Wuinui .beach, yesterday, Mr. S. F. Clare, a resident of the beach, stated to a pressman to-day .that the mammal was above half a chain above highwater mark, and was extremely active. Having spent his boyhood in Stewart Island, Mr. C-lare is familiar with this variety of seal, -and was not surprised to- find! it so well above water. The mammal, which was fully-grown and about 3ft. 6in. in length, was first noticed 'by Mr. Clare’s dog, while roving among- the rocks.
