REVIVAL IN GISBORNE FIRST MATCH NEXT WEEK A revival Iras occurred in the game of 'badminton in Gisborne, and the first match in town for nearly two years will 'be played next week. The sport has flourished in. some of the country centres, despite the fact ■that Gisborne clubs went into recess. The difficulty in obtaining a suitable building for play was responsible for a complete abandonment of activity in the town last year, but arrangements have been made for one group to use the 'Oddfellows’ Wall, Mangapapa. A team from Bartletts is to meet a G; 1 borne combination in the Oddfellows’ Ifall on Monday evening, play to commence at 7 o’clock: The following teams have been chosen:— Bartletts. —Ladies: Mesdames Smith, Griffin and Walters, Misses Bourke, J. French and White-ford. ‘Men: T. Walters. K. 'Muir, R. Carswell, R. Cameron, A. Grieves and M. Hopkinson. Gisborne. Ladies: Mrs. Sloan, Misses Hais’man, E. Johnson, Taylor, M. .Hensbaw and Ambridge. Men: C. Fraser, E. Fitzmaurice, I. Niven, A. Fisher, 'E. Knopwood and C. Sebire. Reserves: iMiss McKinley and A. De Costa.
