START OF CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROUND DRAW (Special to the Herald.) Following is the draw for. the first qualifying round of the Wairoa Golf Club’s championship:— Saturday players—Jones, Irwin, Stuart, 12.50 p.m.; Heslop, Craig, iMaclcay, 12.55 p.m.; Goldstone, Grieve, M. Svensta, 1 p.m.; Smith, B’auld, jun., Morgan, 1.5 p.m.; Brownlie, Hinckesman, Bauid, sen., 1,10 p.ip.; Mpwat, Pinel, J. iHeslop, 1.15 p.m.; Crawford, Mc'Crea, Glengarry, 1.20 p.m.; Crichton, Scott, Crarer, 1.25 p.m.; Grummitt, Ryan, Thomson, 1.30 p.m.; Watson, jun., ■Martin, Millar, 1.35 p.m.; deLautour, Pomare, C. If members are not ready to tee oil' at the above-mentioned times of starting they automatically revert to the last position. Any member cot drawn should advise the match secretary, Mr. C. C. Heslop. Inter-club Visit Last .week-end 30 members of the VVairoa club visited the Tuai club and a very enjoyable day 'was spent. The matches between the two clubs resulted in a narrow win for the town •team. A noteworthy happening occurred in the two-ball match between the No. 1 players of each side, in that A. Dawson, Tuai, played the perfert shot at a short hole for an ace, and even, though Tom Crawford sank his putt for a 'birdie two at the same hole, a loss was registered against him. Dawson paid the customary penalty.
