POVERTY BAY GAMES Playing in the Poverty Bay Football Association’s League competition on Saturday, the tour senior teams provided some first-class entertainment for followers of the code. The scores were: — Thistle 4, Territorials nil. Mercantile 3, drew with Eastern 3. The drawn match provided one of the displays of the season, play being open and very fast, and the ball travelling rapidly from end to end of the field, the goalkeepers on both sides being called on frequently and giving useful performances.
