DANZIG SUPPLIES POLISH PROTEST

OPPOSITION TO TRANSFER FUTURE OF FREE CITY BLUNT HINT TO BERLIN (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 4. 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 3. The morning’s news from Danzig states that the situation is unchanged. Reports filtering in indicate that additional German munitions continue to arrive. Polish reports state that fresh supplies of war materials were landed to-day from a German steamer, including long-range guns, light tanks and anti-aircraft guns. Some side streets in 'Danzig were closed to traffic and were guarded by 'Storm Troopers.

French political circles suggest that Britain, France and Poland should jointly warn the Danzig Senate against a amove to 'transfer the Free City to the Reich.

The French press is of the opinion that Herr Hitler does not intend to effect a coup at Danzig in the immediate future.

The French Foreign Minister, M Bonnet, in receiving the German Minister, (Herr von Welczeek, to-day warned him -of France’s firm deter-

mination to fulfil to the hilt the obligations to Poland. M. Bonnet emphasised that France would tolerate -any attempt to annex Danzig, either from within or without.

The Paris correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says it is understood that France is suggesting that Britain and France should guarantee Luxemburg.

The Polish Commissioner in Danzig, M. Chodacki, unexpectedly returned from Warsaw r to Danzig to-day.

It was 'understood that -M. Chodacki, after conferences in Warsaw, was going to Danzig to-morrow to present a note to the Danzig Senate protesting against the militarisation of the Free City.

The Danzig Senate to-day issued a decree that all Danzig citizens can ho called up for -work regarded -as important for the State.
