GALLIPOLI VETERANS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED The annual meeting of the Gisborne “dllg-OUt” Of the Gallipoli Association, held in the Gisborne Returned Soldiers’ Association’s rooms on Saturday evening, brought together a substantial number of veterans of units which .fought on the peninsula in 1915. Mr. Hugh Miller was 1 in the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted, the report referring to the social activities which comprise the main feature of the Gallipoli Association’s objectives. The accounts showed a small credit balance
Discussing the report, the president stated that several social functions had been held during the past year, and had proved increasingly interesting to veterans. He suggested that an early date be set for the commencement of the 1939-40 programme.
This suggestion fbund general support, and the incoming committee was recommended to organise a function for early in August. The following officers were appointed:—President Mr. Hugh Miller, re-elected; vice-president, Messrs. R. Cox, re-elected. P. Hatwell, W. Sinton, and T. M. Kohere; lion, secretary, Mr. F. I-laughie; assistant-sec-retary, Mr, E. Corbett; him. treasurer, Mr. A. James; bon. auditor, Mr. A. Hamb'ling.
