WAERENGA-A-HIKA NEWS
EUCHRE AND DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) The final of a,.series, of euchre and dance evenings organised by the Wac-renga-a-hika School Committee was held on Saturday night and proved most successful. Music for the dancing was played by Miss G. Gooch, while extras were contributed by Mr. J. Gooch. The M.C. was Mr. A. Duncan. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mrs. Jackson and Mr. L. Williams, while another competition was won by Miss G. Gooch, with Mr. G. Smart. The euchre games were controlled by Messrs. L. Torrie, Jackson and Williams, the prize-winners being:— Ladies.—Mrs. W. Hamon, 1; A. A. Brown, 2. Gentlemen. —Mr. Cassidy, 1; Mr. McMillan, 2. Aggregate prize-winners for the series were: Ladies.—Mrs. T. Linklater, 1; Mrs. Robckc, 2. Gentlemen. —Mr. T. Linklater, 1; Mr. W. Hamon, 2. After the dainty supper had been served the chairman, Mr. Duncan, thanked all for their attendance during the series and expressed thanks to all who had assisted. Among those present were Mesdames L. Williams, W. Jackson, R. D. Moore, A. A. Brown, Robcke, Gooch, G. Grayson, R. Grant, C. O'Connell, W- Hamon, J. Scott, G. Wilson, T. Linklater, T. Inram, and T. Reichcnbar; Misses G. Gooch, E. Walsh, M. Greig, N. Ingram, J. Duncan, E Grant, McDonald, and Carter.
