FIXTURES WITH COAST AUCKLAND MATCH, AUG. 12 RUGBY UNION DISCUSSION Dates for representative fixtures were discussed' by members of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union at the weekly meeting last evening. Guidance concerning the dales for matches with the East Coast union was offered by the union to the fixtures committee. The chairman, Mr. G. IT. Sceats, presided over the following members: Bro. The Winter Show Association sought the co-operation of the union to secure a suitable hall in Gisborne for the accommodation of sports bodies, pointing out that several types of sport had suffered in recent years by reason of there being no suitable large hall available. Private individuals desiring the use of a large enclosed area were also penalised by lack of a suitable ball. With a view to overcoming these problems, a public meeting was to be held in the Borough Council chambers on the evening of July 13. All bodies interested in the building of such a hall were to be invited to send two delegates to the meeting, and the co-operation of the union in any efforts directed toward the purchase of the proposed hall was sought by the association. The letter was received without comment.
