The doubles match was postponed from yesterday owing to rain. Quist is. much better to-day. His condition on Friday was plainly reflected in his play against Tapia. The Mexican won the first game to love, but Quist’s superior ability was quickly in evidence. The second set found Quist tired, but he rallied toward the end of the set and afterthat appeared determined to finish the match as. quickly as possible, 'continuously siorrriing the net. In the doubles to-day the Mexicans shone only once. That was in the first set when, even after the Australians were leading 4—l, the .Mexicans, largely due to Hernandez’s temporary brilliance and Bromwich’s weak service, held their opponents to 5—5 and 6—6. However, the Australian .pair then crushed the Mexicans with devastating smashes and network. The arrival, 15 minutes late in true Mexican style, of Senor Raul Castellano, representing the President of Mexico. General Cardenas, delayed the start of the match. The attendance was 4000.
