NATIONAL HURDLES MUSTELLA’S STEEPLES j '(Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 5, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 2. At the Victoria Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday the principal events resulted as follows:

Grand National Hurdles, cf £2000; 3 ; miles— Green Cape, 9.8 (Dummett), 1; Restford, 9.9 (Fullarton), 2; Cape Race, 9.7 (Bracken), 3. Fourteen started.

Nevizes made the early running from Ringford, Bobken and Green ICape. The last-named came up in the final round and moved into second place. Then came Pooley Bridge and Restiford. With half a mile to go, Green Cape took charge from Capo Race and Reslford. Green Cape led into the straight from Restford and easily beat that rival by three lengths and a half. Cape Race was two lengths away. Time, 5.T9.1.

Kensington Steeplechase, of £500; 2 miles and J furlong.—Mustella, 9.11 (Innes), 1; Trentwood, 9.0 (McKee), 2; Turf Boy. 12.7 (Douglas), 2. Twelve started. Won by two lengths and a half; a head. Time, 4.11.
