( The Daily Telegraph's Hong Kong , correspondent says that the Japanese have carried out their threat to intensify the Tientsin blockade. They : closed all barriers and electrified l 22 miles of entanglements, permitting : entrances but no exits to the British and French Concessions. , A Chunkging message states that the Chinese launched an offensive from the north towards Canton, simultaneously capturing Sinkai, Lientang, and Kwentang Air fighting continues.
A Swatow message states that the Japanese planes bombed the city, hitting the American Union High School. No Americans were killed, and the Chinese casualties are unknown.
