AUCKLAND, this day. “Farmers in Australia are incredulous when told that nearly eveiy farmer in New- Zealand owns a motoi car, a milking machine plant, a radio sot, and a telephone, and has an electrically-equipped house and milking shed,” said Mr, P. O. Vcale, chemist and 'bacteriologist to the Taranaki Federation of Dairy Factories, who returned in the Awatea as leader of a ip arty of 31 .members of South Taranaki young farmers’ clubs who toured New South Wales. “Our fellows have returned very satisfied with conditions iu their own country,” said Mr. ,T. E. Davies, instructor of the Department of Agriculture, who acted as manager of the tour. “They have no wish to change places with the farmers of New South Wales. From every viewpoint the tour was an eye-opener.”
Mr. Veale and Mr. Davies said they were overwhelmed with cordiality and received with civic honours in important towns. There was obviously the warmest possible sentiment towards Now Zealand.
