OBITUARY

OLD AUCKLAND RESIDENT The death occurred suddenly at his home at Remuera, Auckland, of Mr. William Hayes Owen Johnston, at the age of 80 years. Born in Belfast, Ireland, Mr. Johnston was the oldest of a family of 10 who arrived in New Zealand in the barque Lutterworth in October, 1880. Mr. Johnston assisted his father in business and was later appointed a Government hemp grader, until his retirement working ehiefiy in the Auckland district. He married Miss Jean Marie Blaikie, daughter of the late Mr. J. B. Blaikie, of Auckland, who survives him. There are two sons amt three daughters.

SISTER. MARY NOLASCO The death occurred in Palmerston North after a long illness of Sister Mary Nolasco, a member of the community of the Sisters of Mercy and a member of a well-known Wellington Catholic family.
