MARGIN OF ONE POINT

SOUTH AUCKLAND’S WIN RUGBY LEAGUE MATCH (Por Pros* Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. South Auckland heat Wellington by a single point, 11 to 10, in a hard, open Rugby League representative match at Newtown Park on Saturday The match was watched by a considerable crowd, including the North Island selectors. Except in the early stages, Wellington had the better of the scrums and showed sounder back combination, but their handling was uncertain with the heavy, greasy ball, and their tackling was erratic. The big South Auckland forwards followed up hard, and their backs figured in several individual efforts. Wellington gave them a number of openings by kicking too far ahead.
