The Mosquito dredge will have no wash up this, as she has been engaged overhauling and putting in a new screen. It was expected to make a fresh start today. The S tony and Mosquito Leads dredge has not attained normal, regular and efficient stage of work yet. This is due to [the unexpected stiffness of the wash. The steam power is more than abundant, but the strength of the pulleys, axles and bearers is unequal to the strain. Breakage after breakage occur?, dredging work is absolutely intermittent, and, what is as bad, it is veiy inefficient, becarfle the bottom of the wash cannot be lifted except In plac9s. The Company is by degrees getting the working gear replaced by heavier machinery, and expects to be able within a few weeks to cope successfully with the deep and stiff face. The dredge during the last fortnight has been as usually harassed by broken macliaery and worked only 170 honra inefficiently and nnder difficulties. The yield was 35 ounces 13 dwts of retorted gold,
