GREYMOUTH HARBOR BOARD.

The adjourned meeting of the above Board was held last night. Present : Messrs Petrie (chairman), Matheson, tjht-edy, Campbell, Russell and M’Kechnie. “ Dredge—Tke dredge commenced working on 16tli January and has lifted 1998 tons. With an additional crane we could lift a much larger quantity, but for a short job it is hardly worth getting. Four horses were tried for running spoil and Mr Kennedy’s gave the most satisfaction.

The Chairman stated that the timber was required by the Board and had been purchased, the cost being £8 6s. Action approved of. ... From the Borough Council asking the Board to meet a deputation to go into ihe question of reserves wanted by the Board for docks. Resolved that the Board meet the deputation on February 4th at 3 o clock. From Union Steam Shipping Company notifying the Board that the Company intended carrying cattle and asking that the cattle wharf be promptly enlarged. The Chairman moved that the necessary alterations be made. Mr Campbell seconded. Carried. The notice of the Chairman in regard to the Secretary was referred to the Finance Committee. Mr Matheson’s motion relative to workmen was withdrawn.
