He went to her house and shot her dead as she opened the door. Tho son and father then exchanged shots but neither were hit Wegner then returned 10 his camp and suicided.

Speaking &t the Regatta luncheoa yesterday, the State Treasurer had a tilt at Germany, He said that while the Germans were loud in ridiculing Britain's inability to speedily ternr'nate the Boer War, the attempt of the Germans to take Venezuela fort was not creditable. One had to make several attempts before succeeding. If the Germans had the same task to perform as the British in the South African campaign, it would probably have lasted very much longer.
