Aldinga—2sozs 7dwts for 125 hour.-. Th 3 machine was squaring up the f >C3 taking out corners, hence the falling off. Victoby prospects are not improving. The frequent change of dredg jmasters d 033 not appear to answer, nor can it be expacted for just as one man begins to pick up the run of the wash a ckanga is made. North Beach, oloz 3dwt for 112 hours. The dredge has a good face of apparently uniform richness. The claim is regarded as the moat certain oa the coast. Callaghans Cbbbk, 20ozlOdwtfor 125 hours. The dredge was working ha'f the time in drift deposit, being larger than was expected. Commissioners Flat 20ozs 3 dwt for 100 hours. Trie dredge was delayed during the week ihrough an outbreak of fire. °Thera wai not a'great deal of damage done. Leviathan 17ozs. The posnion of this claim is not satisfactory. Apparently a much larger area has been worked out than was an'icipaled. The machine wi 1 have to prospect for herself a good deal. Leviathan Fbeehold is now being worked by tribnters. ~ Gbeenstone Three Mile had a good Bteady run giving 47ozs 6dwt. The lead is narrow but good, with work rather rough. New Gbbenstonb got 11 ozs for the third return. The claim is not yet properly opened up. Mokoia 440z3 15dwti for about two weeks. The claim is now in good order and should get better returns. Boss Day Dawn G. D. Oo.—At a meeting of the directors of the Boss Day Dawn Company it was deiided to accept the tander of Messrs Levin and Co, of Wellington, for shipping the machinery to Grey mouth, a condition being made that it ba landed in two weeks. The tender of Mr John Coyle was accepted for carting it to Boss. Mr Nees will arrive in Boss in the course of a few days to superintend the erection of the machinery. The company should be able to commence dredging operations about the end of April. Hau Hatt (in liquidation).—A small working syndicate has made arrangements with the purchasers of this dredge to take it over and again work the claim. Kohinoob.—Be'.urns from this dredge continue payable, and she has enabled the directors to largely reduce the liabilities of the company. Like the other Boss claim, the Prince of Wale?, she should soon be on the dividendpaying li3t. M'Lhod's Tebbace Sluicing Co.- It is stated that good progress is being made with the flotation of this company. The ground has always been well spoken of and if nee ssary capital can be ra : sed to oring the water on to it the venture should prove a payable ono. Prince op Walks — Although this dredge is not winning any phenomenal returns, it is gratifying 'o n to that since commencing dredging thare has. been a substantial profit on each week's workings, and a very short time should see her in the dividend paying list. Commissionbbs Flat—This is working well, and thould continue to give a good account of herself. The ground now being treated is equal to tW£n*y-five ounces per we.k with anything like full time. Tne Company are for unate in having such an energetic and resourceful dredgejnaster as Mr Mouat, who frequently puts in eighteen hours out of the twenty four when he finds it rje;essary. The prospects of the Company seem to bo distinctly on the bright side. : Boyes'Blub Spos Claim -There is nothing new to report with regard to this property, bat it is understood that the .flotation by the Auckland syndicate is
practically-assured. Messrs H.L.Michel and A. Stevenson, of Kokitika, have been asked to act as local directors. Blackwater—This Company, which was floated ovar two «nd a half years ago is now nearly ready to commence operations. A trial run of tho tho dredge should take place in a few days.
