Bombardment of San Carlos. [per press association—copyright.] New York, Jan 22, The Ge.man cruisers Gazelle, Panther and Yineta were engaged with the fort at San Carlos. One hundred and fifteen were wounded, including Uiewa. The rebels eventually retreated. London, Jan 22. The Times commenting oa Count Von Billow’s speech in the Reichstag says that Britain’s dislike to co-operating with Germany is very strong, and there will be general relief when the Venezuelan trouble is ended. He adds that Britain is determined not to bo dragged at the tail of any nation and must adopt the German policy of looking first after her own great paramount Imperial interests. Berlin, Jan. 53. The officials at Berlin suggest that the Allied commanders decided upon the bombardment of San Carlos and tho new effective blockade is leaving the Germans executive because it is within tho sphere assigned to them. The bombardment was renewed yesterday.
