Count Von Balow replied that chauvinism was not synonymous with patriot ism. We play the role of a strong, s ill man neither week nor provocative protecting himself and his goods. The reply was received with cheers. Count Van Sonnenberg then criticised the action of the Kaiser in not giving an audience to the Boer generals. Bqlow repeated the Gazette announcecabled on October 9th, c'o ing by saying a condition was that the General should apply as Britishers through the British Ambassador. Bulow added that an intermediary was acting for the Generals who were as absolutely trustworthy and estimatiable persosonages. He intimated the generals suddenly changed their minds.
