Railways Buckled with Heat. Sydney, Jan. 22. The train for Melbourne was delayed owing to the great heat at Barnawotha which was 111 in the shade, causing the rails to buckle The Plague Barton is advised that plague is prevalent at the Mauritius. For the week ended Dec, 4th there were eighteen cases twelve being fatal. New Zealand Agriculture. Adelaide, Jan 22. J. V. Loughlin has been appointed Honorary Commissioner to visit Now Zealand to enquire into agricultural and dairying industries. Riddock, Commissioner, will Inquire into irrigation dairying industry of Britain and America.
