BRUNNER-NGAHERE CRICKET MATCH.

The Brunner cricketers journeyed to Ngahere on Saturday last to try conclusions w'th Ngahere. The home team lulled first and made a total of 58, of which P. O'Brien made 18, M L'sky 12, and Alexander 9. Brunner’s first innings wits a procession as nothing could be done against the splendid bowling of Dan o‘Bnen and J. Williams. The total was only 18, of which Finlay and Julian (4) and Dixon and Jones (3) were chief scorers. Npahtre again went to the wickets and made of 64 which 8. Bradley,, not out, 21, made by careful play- 1. 0 Bnen (12) and Owens (7) were the only other resuectable scorers. . . H Brunner requiring 105 to win, made another small totri, only reaching 47. Gills hit bard for IB (including a splendid drive for 5), Daw making a useful 8, ■ whilst Finlay (7), and Collins (6) hit away merrily. Ngahere thus won by o 7 tm*

D. O'Brien and Williams howled best for the winners and Gills, Dixon, Finlay and Todd for the losers. Brunner’s crack batsman (G. Todd) made a pair of spectacles. The visitors are loud in their praise of the hospitality extended to them, and one and all returned home well satisfied with the day’s outing.
