REEFTON MINING.
[OXJB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Ajlpinb Extended.— The mine manager reports No 7 crosscut is in 75 feet. During the week we passed through a tight bar with a fair amount of water coming from it. It is likely looking country for a reel. No 10 has been extended south 3 feet making the total distance 17 feet. We hare timbered up and are now ready for the contractors. Ta the north slopes there is 3 feet of s' one. I have seen some fair gold from there this week. There are 80 tons in the paddock from here. The shaft contractors will start with hand drills as soon as we are ready for them and will get away a few feet from the timber before starting the rook drills. .New Scotia— For the week-No 1 level has been driven 25 feet and timbered 23 feet. Thera is no change in the ground driven through. In the Gallant level the curve has been put in, and line laid up to the reef. We are now driving south on 5 feet of stone, which when broken down, shows gold. The stone is being pat in the paddock.
