Disastrous bush fires are raging in many districts. Taylor's Westfield estate at Elmore was swept. The woolshed and many sheep, including a number of valuable stud ram?, were destroyed. Great damage has been done in the Macedon State nursery-. Sydney, December 29, Bush fires are general throughout the colony, and several houses and a number of tents were destroyed at Lawson. An immense ‘ area of grass was destroyed between Gundagai and Junee. Shipping was impeded, by the smoke shrouding the coast. A uaefulraia is falling in the city since noon. The Elingamite was delayed by the heavy weather in the Tasman .Sea.
