GREYMOUTH TROTTING CLUB.

The Greymouth Trotting Club's first day's meeting is to bo held Monday, when, given good weather, there should be a record gathering and record trotting. The number of acceptances far exceed those of any previous year, while the stamp of horses engaged are far above tho average. The smallest number of acceptances in any one race is six, li le the Ladies' Bracelet has 14, 11 1: lan 13, County 11, Grand Stand 1.. <J re mouth Club Handicap 10, Triai , Juvenile 8, and Westland Handicap 6. To attempt to pick the winners is a bit beyond us, because in every event we see in nearly every acceptor a likely winner, proof conclusive of the ability of the handicapper and the open nature of the events. The Club has determined to pay two dividends where Aiere are six starters, and this will add additional interest to the trotting. There is much interest felt in the Juvenile Stakes, which will be run in heats, and there being but four in each heat tt er6 will be but one dividend, but as the totalisator will open upon each heat as well as on the final, speculators will have ample opportunity of backing their fancy. As there are ten events to be got off, the time of starting will bo rigidly adhered to,
