A cablegram from the Casualty .Department, Capetown, states that Trooper Wm 8. Lockhead, of Mornington, Dunedin, of the Seventh Contingent was severely wounded in the right leg at Millvale on the 18th inst. Trooper Douglas Revell, of Chrietohurcb and Corporal Robert Flower of Blenheim of the Seventh Contingent are . dangerously ill of enteric at Charleston and Newcastle respectively. ‘ Dcnbbin, This Day. The Premier has advised Robert Lookhead of Mornington that his son William Stewart, was severely wounded in the right leg at Millvale on the eighteenth inst. . ■ Murder of Scouts by the Boers.
Received this day at 9 42 a m. f London, Dec 23. Potgieter’a laager had long served as a Boer depot for Western Transvaal. Two of Seheeper’s commando and an independent witness testified against Scheeper’s regarding the murder of native scouts. The prisoner pleaded that he noted under Fouche's orders.
Received, his day at 2 43. Three day’s continuous Fighting. ' ’ , ; ,/ : London, December 23. There has been three day’s sharp fighting in,-the Orange Colony and Transvaal, There are numerous casualties.
