SERIOUS ERUPTION AT WAIMANGA.

A Sheppard guide at Waimanga reports a great eruption at 7 p m on Thursday. It was probably the most severe since 1886 and was heralded by two loud reports like cannon, followed by an upheaval of a black column to the height of 1000 feet which in descending filled the whole ▼alley. The noise was deafening owing to stones meeting in mid air, The noise was like the crack of musketry. After the eruption a dense white cloud of steam arose ascending thousands of feet above the summit of Tarawa,
