GREY HOSPITAL BOARD.

A meeting of the Grey River Hospital Board was held last night. Present: Messrs Petrie (chair), Smith, Sheedy, Russell, Giesekiug, Kettle and Phillips. The assets were ; Chari table Aid Board ... £175 0 0 Government Subsidy ... 252 18 8 Total £427 18 8 The Visiting Committee reported upon the institution. The total number of patients treated was 73. ‘During the month 23 patients were admitted, 16 discharged and 5 died. There remained in the institution at the end of the month 52 patients. A letter was received from County Council notifying the Trustees that Messrs M'Carthy and Phillips were appointed to act on their behalf, also from the Borough Council appointing Messrs Petrie and Sheedy to a like position.

Resolved that the increase to the nurses date from Ist October. Resolved that a letter be sent to Miss Easson thanking her for her splendid donation of £2B 6s 4d, being proceeds from Dorothy Opera.

Letters were instructed to be sent to the country committees thanking them for their donations, which were very acceptable.

Resolved that the Chairman and Secretary be a committee to enquire into the Old Age Pensions, and that the amounts be paid to the patient as soon as possible.

Resolved that a letter be sent to the Friendly Societies asking them to contribute to a bed to be used by any of their members who were compelled to go to the institution.

Resolved that a list of all discharged patients owing money to the institution be prepared and laid before the Trustees.

Resolved that the meetings in future be held on the second Wednesday afternoon in the month at 3 o’clock.

Messrs Giescking, Kettle and Sheedy were appointed Visiting Committee for the month.
