WANTED—A LAUNDRY.
(To the Edi or.) Sie, —Washing for a living is just as honorable an occupation as any other handicraft—or even intellectual pursuit—for it keeps people clean ; and how dishonorable aud unkempt it sesms to be walking about in a dirty shirt! Greymouth is the first town of its size and importance that I ever visited that could not boast of a 'regular' public laundry, and a person having a little capita', with sufficient courage and hustle to establish such a useful institution, would certainly profit largely thereby. I don't want to be too strictly classical, but what a splendid opportunity is thus afforded to a combination of energetic and strictly temperate women, for instance, who would give every encouragement to the Deity's noblest creatures to appear cleanly and
inviting in our public places! Yours etc., — George H. Raymond, Botanical Physician. |We heartily agree as to the want and the prospects of success. —Ed. E. S.j
SANDER & SONS' EUOALYPTIBX TtIACT-—Under the distinguished patr omof His Majesty the King of Italy, as per cnag munication made by the Minister forfForeign Affairs, through the Oonsul-General or Italyat Melbourne, March 14, 1878. Awarded diploma at the Amsterdam Exhibition, 1883Aeknowledged by Mdieal Clinics and Universities all over the Globe. There are imitations of Eucalypti Extract in the market, products of simple distillation, forming crude, resinous oils. In order that ; these crude oils may not be taken for our pursolatile Eucalypti Extract, which is recognise by the Medical Division of the Prussian Goernment to be cf perfectly pure origin, as pernformation forwarded to us through the Consul at Melbourne, March 2, 1878, we vtato: — ~ It is proved by tests mad 3 by the Medusa Clinic-, of the Universities of Eonn and Griefswald (Prussia), and reported toby Dr Schultz Professor of Pharmacology at Bonn, and Professor Dr Mossier, Director of the Medical Clincs at Griefswald, that only products that are saturated with oxygen and freed of acids resinous and other substances adherent to primary distillation, will develop the sanative qualities proper to the plant. All crude oils or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are to be classed according to the named authoriti ss, among the turpentines, which are abandoned long since as an internal medicament. Tl ese crude oil, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are discernible: - 1. By their deficiency in pungent odjr Iwhich our product, the only genuine Euu ypti Extract, develops most freely througa ts surplus oxygen.) 2. By their alojoholio, thin, and mobile ap pearance, being reduced to specifio density through the presence of acids. 3. By their taste, the result of contract ing tendency of resins and tanats. If these crude oils, or so-called Eucalypti Extracts, are applied by mistake in cases of croup, bronchitis, dipthcria, internal inflammation, dysentry, etc., the consequences are most appalling. For safety's sake ask always or Sander and Sons' Eucalypti Extract.— Sandhurst, Victoria, Australia.—SANDEß & SONS. .
