GERMAN-MADE CORONATION MEDALS.
The approach of the Coronation ceremonies has set the medallists working at such high pressure that it is probable that upwards of ten million medals will be turned out of Birmingham workshops during the next six months to cope with the demands already pouring in from all parts of the Empire. India has her special design now being prepared, Canada, from a die made in Birmingham, is to strike most of her own medals, but Australia, New Zealand, and other parts of the Empire will depend chiefly upon the English —or German—manufacturers. The Germans have been in the field for some months with specimens, which are being offered at a price In-low what the Birmingham maker can afford to quote. As only the wrappers and not the medals themselves bear the words, "Made in Germany," they are held to be a contravention of the Merchandise Marks Act.
